NETHERLANDS-DRUGS-CANNABIS-TOURISM
TO GO WITH AFP STORY BY ALIX RIJCKAERT
The mayor of the Dutch town Roosendaal, Michel Marijnen, speaks during an interview on November 19, 2008 in his town. On November 21, 2008 the mayors of about 30 Dutch municipalities met in Almere, northeast of Amsterdam, to urge the government to act against the nuisance they claim is caused by drug tourism. In 1976, the Netherlands decriminalised the consumption of cannabis, and the possession of less than five grams. Its cultivation and wholesale remain prohibited. AFP PHOTO/Anoek DE GROOT
