INDIA-POLITICS-VOTE-REANG
Mizoram election officials prepare to conduct postal ballot voting at a polling station at the Naishing Para Reang refugee camp, some 220 kilometers north of Agartala, capital of India’s northeastern state of Tripura on November 26, 2008. Reang refugees, from the neighbouring state of Mizoram, are demanding that they cast their vote for the Mizoram State assembly elections through ballot papers and not postal ballot and have lodged a complaint with election officials over the issue of missing names from the voters roll. Approxiamtely 35, 000 Reang, also known as Bru, are stranded in six makeshift camps in Kanchanpur since fleeing Mizoram following ethnic riots in 1997. AFP PHOTO/ BAPI ROY CHOUDHURY
