(FILES) US Democratic presidential candidate Illinois Senator Barack Obama meets former Chairman, US Federal Reserve Paul Volker at Bank United Center in Coral Gables, Florida, on September 19, 2008. Volcker will be appointed by president-elect Barack Obama to head an executive advisory committee on the economy, the Wall Street Journal reported on November 26, 2008. Obama will appoint Volcker, 81, to be chairman of a "new White House advisory board tasked with helping to lift the nation from recession and stabilize financial markets," the daily reported, quoting unnamed Democratic officials.
