SERBIA AND MONTENEGRO-TRIALS-STAMBOLIC
Court security stand still during the opening of the trial for the assassination of Serbian president Ivan Stambolic in 2000. The trail was quickly adjourned for six weeks to allow main suspect Milorad Lukovic to prepare his defence following his surprise surrender after 14 months on the run. Lukovic, better known as Legija who is also charged with having masterminded last year-s assassination of Serbia-s reformist prime minister Zoran Djindjic, suddenly turned himself into authorities on May 2.
