FILES-This file picture shows Miorad Lukovic during military training of Zeljko Raznatovic-Arkan paramilitary units, in 1995 in Erdut, Croatia. The opening of the trial for the assassination of Serbian president Ivan Stambolic in 2000 was opened today 18 May 2004 in Belgrade, but was quickly adjourned for six weeks to allow main suspect Milorad Lukovic to prepare his defence following his surprise surrender after 14 months on the run. Lukovic, better known as Legija who is also charged with having masterminded last year-s assassination of Serbia-s reformist prime minister Zoran Djindjic, suddenty turned himself into authorities on May 2.
