BELGIUM-EU-ECONOMY-FINANCE
Cypriot Finance Minister Charilaos Stavrakis (R) talks with British counterpart Alistair Darling on December 2, 2008 before an Economy and Finance Council meeting at EU headquarters in Brussels. Competition Commissioner Neelie Kroes told EU finance ministers on December 2 that she planned to accept a broader range of measures for banks after taking flak for imposing too many conditions on bailouts and assessing them too slowly.
