SOMALIA-PIRACY-SHIPPING-NATO
A handout photo from NATO taken from the Italian navy destroyer Luigi Durand de la Penne as it arrives to thwart a suspected pirate attack on the Hong Kong registered merchant vessel Overseas Hercules on December 2, 2008. The Overseas Hercules sent out a distress signal on a possible attack and was ordered by the destroyer to increase speed and use its fire hoses to avert the risk of boarding. The pirate vessels departed as soon as the destoyer arrived.
