The parties of Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko and Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, who have engaged in a bitter three-month row, signed a fragile coalition accord. Representatives of the two main parties plus a smaller bloc signed the deal to applause from assembled party members. The fragile accord comes as Ukraine faces economic meltdown amid the global financial crisis, having suffered a severe blow to its steel industry and been forced to turn to the International Monetary Fund for a bail-out.
