SUDAN-FRANCE-ARCHAEOLOGY
This undated recent photo obtained from the French Section of the Antiquities Directorate of Sudan (SFDAS) shows the three ancient ram statues newly discovered in Sudan's el-Hassa region, 180 kms (110 miles) north of Khartoum, in the fall of 2008. The statues could help decipher the oldest script in sub-Saharan Africa whose secrets are mysterious to the modern world, a Western archaeologist said on December 15, 2008.
