Fedex aircraft maintenance technicians Dan Forrand (L) and Roger Valle, testify to commission members (L) at a "Blue Ribbon Commission" meeting on keeping Fedex jobs in the middle class, 16 December 2008 at the La Tijera United Methodist Church in Los Angeles, California. Fedex workers testified at the meeting that they are on the verge of slipping out of the middle class because of dwindling benefits, higher out-of-pocket medical costs and an overall decline in workplace conditions. Workers also testified that they are faced with anti-union intimidation from management. The Blue Ribbon Commission hearing was sponsored by the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor, AFL-CIO and Clergy and Laity United for Economic Justice (CLUE).
