French new junior Minister for European Affairs Bruno Le Maire (C) addresses the MP on December 17, 2008 at the National Assembly in Paris during the session of question to the government. During this session, a heated debate opposed French Prime Minister Francois Fillon and head of the French socialist party group at the National assembly Jean-Marc Ayrault about the working Sundays. The government presented to parliament a bill doubling the number of working Sundays from five to 10 per year -- on top of the Christmas holiday period. But the measure falls way short of Sarkozy's plan to introduce Sunday shopping in the entire retail sector. Socialists are among the opponents to this measure. AFP PHOTO JACQUES DEMARTHON
