NIGERIA-UNREST-EMERGENCY
A Red Cross official backs 21 May 2004 in Yelwa a mass grave where 140 children killed during the ethnic and religious violence were buried. Calm has returned to Yelwa, but the war-torn north central town in Nigeria has remain deserted as indigenes have fled the town for fear of subsequent attacks following the imposition of state of emergency by President Olusegun Obasanjo to check the rising ethnic and religious violence in the state.
