LEBANON-MIDEAST-CONFLICT-UNIFIL-WEAPON-CACHE

A handout picture received on January 9, 2009 from the public information office of the United Nations Interim Forces in Lebanon (UNIFIL) shows an old weapons cache inside a bunker located between the hills of Kfar Shuba and Kfar Hamam in the eastern sector of UNIFIL?s area of operations in south Lebanon, close to the border with Israel. The Lebanese army and UN peackeepers found today the weapons cache, which appears to date from the period of the 2006 Israel-Hezbollah conflict, a day after rockets were fired on the Jewish state. The army said a rocket launcher and several rockets were found, while a similar UNIFIL statement said the cache contained "approximately 34 Grad-P rockets and some boxes of allied ammunition" found in bunkers covered by camouflage nets with no sign of any recent use of the bunkers.
