Italy's Alexander Ploner clears a gate as he competes in the Men's giant slalom at the FIS Alpine Skiing World Cup on January 10, 2009 in Adelboden. Austria's Benjamin Raich won the men's World Cup giant slalom ahead of Italian Massimiliano Blardone and Kjetil Jansrud of Norway. Raich timed 2min 24.95sec in bagging his third season win and 33rd career success overall, edging out Italian Massimiliano Blardone by 0.24sec and Norway's Kjetil Jansrud by 0.72sec.
