Panagopoulos was kidnapped on January 12, 2009 at gunpoint near his home on the outskirts of Athens, police said. Three gunmen seized 70-year-old Panagopoulos -- founder of Greece's largest ferry company Attica -- and his chauffeur after blocking their car in traffic in Kavouri, the seaside suburb where the tycoon lives.
