An Israeli Cobra army helicopter shoots flares over the Gaza Strip as seen from a location near Kissufim crossing, on the Israel-Gaza border on January 27, 2009. Palestinian and an Israeli soldier were killed near Gaza, the deadliest flare-up since the end of a war that cast a shadow over the new US peace envoy's maiden trip to the region.
