Russia said today that its foreign currency reserves had dropped nearly 10 billion dollars (7.5 billion euros) in a week as the central bank fought a drastic slide in the value of the ruble. The Russian currency was at 34.71 rubles to the dollar at 0900 GMT, reflecting a drop of more than three percent from its value the day before, according to the website of the MICEX currency exchange.
