FRANCE-ARCHAEOLOGY-CAVES-LASCAUX
TO GO WITH AFP STORY IN FRENCH BY *ANTHONY LUCAS --- Artists work on January 22, 2009 in a studio called "Lascaux Revealed" in Montignac, western France, to create three-dimensional casts identical to the reliefs in the nearby Lascaux caves. The artists are using a system of retro-projection to exactly recreate the paintings. The studio, lead by an Lascaux caves enthusiast Renaud Sanson, are based not far from the original cave and its painting which dates from 17,000 years before the Christian epoch, and has been closed to the public since 1963.
