FRANCE-GUADELOUPE-MARTINIQUE-STRIKE
People protest, in Fort-de-France, on the French Caribbean island of Martinique, on February 20, 2009, against the high cost of living. Unions launched a strike in Martinique on February 5. Most shops, cafes, banks, schools and government offices have been shut and the strike has hit the key tourism industry.
