Italy's Pietro Piller Cottrer (R), France's Christophe Perrillat (2nd R), Russia's Maxim Vylegzhanin (3rd R) and Russia's Alexander Legkov compete during in the men's 50km Mass Start Free event of the Nordic Skiing World Championships on March 1, 2009 in Liberec. The 23-year-old Norwegian Petter Northug who already helped Norway win the double pursuit and team relay events, grabbed an individual title when he covered the 50km course in the winning time of 1 hour 59 mins and 38.1 seconds. In a tight finish, Vylegzhanin took silver by finishing just 0.7seconds behind Northug, while Angerer claimed bronze after finishing 2.0 seconds off the winner. AFP PHOTO / JANEK SKARZYNSKI
