Edith Bongo, who died on March 14, 2009 at a military hospital in Rabat will be buried on in her native Republic of Congo after a funeral in Libreville, Gabon's government announced. Bongo, renowned for action against AIDS in Africa and other ailments, died at the age of 45 after a long but unspecified illness in Rabat, where she had been undergoing treatment for several months.
