PANAMA-SPAIN-HEALTH-JUSTICE
--TO GO WITH AFP STORY BY JUAN JOSE RODRIGUEZ --
Mitzila Donado (L) shows a picture of her late father, Jaime Donado, who died on August 30, 2006 after taking contaminated medicine, alongside Rudecinda Delgado, also affected by the drug in Panama City on March 25, 2009. The medicine contained "dietilenoglicol", a product with industrial usage that was found in a shipment of glycerine sent by the Chinese group CNSC Fortune Way Company to Spanish pharmaceutical firm Rasfer International, and later distributed in Panama to local firm Medicom to develop a cough syrup. Family members of the 124 people that died and many others affected from taking the medicine are demanding financial compensation from the Spanish and Chinese firms involved in the mass poisoning.
