Rio de Janeiro's landmark statue - Christ the Redeemer - appears in this combo with the lights turned on (bottom) and the lights turned off (top) during Earth Hour on March 28, 2009. Earth Hour is organized by the World Wildlife Foundation (WWF) in an effort to raise awareness about global warming. Eighty three cities around the world took part in the event.
