This image released by the US Geological Survey (USGS) and the Alaska Volcano Observatory (AVO), shows Mount Redoubt in Alalska as it erupts on March 30, 2009, hurling ash and smoke high into the atmosphere, forcing flight cancellations and prompting new precautions on the ground, authorities said.
