Former Socialist French presidential candidate S?gol?ne Royal delivers a speech at the Senegalese Socialist party headquarters in Dakar on April 6, 2009. Mrs Segole Royal apologized for French President Nicolas Sarkozy 's speech delivered in July 2007 which outraged many in Senegal. He said " the tragedy of Africa is that the African has not fully entered into history," and that for the traditional African "there is no place for human adventure or for the idea of progress". She arrived in the Senegalese capital last Sunday as part of a five day tour focusing on issues of long term development and met with association militants in the Dakar suburbs.
