A US Navy marine stands underneath a US flag on the deck of the USS Bainbridge after the US Navy warship docked at the Mombasa port on April 16, 2009. The Bainbridge escorted a US merchant ship that a day earlier had been unsuccesfully attacked by Somali pirates in the Indian Ocean and was also bringing aboard the captain of the US merchant ship Maersk Alabama who was rescued by Navy Seal sharpshooters aboard the Bainbridge.
