CZECH-EU-SENATE-LISBON-TREATY
Czech senator and outgoing Deputy Prime Minister for European Affairs Alexandr Vondra waits on May 6, 2009 before a vote at the Czech Senate in Prague on the European Union's Lisbon Treaty. Czech senators approved the EU's Lisbon Treaty, paving the way for its full ratification The treaty needed a three-fifth majority of all senators present and made it through the upper house of Czech parliament owing to 54 votes from 79 senators in the room, while 20 were against.
