GABON-CONGO-BONGO-FILE
(FILES) A file photo taken on March 19, 2009 shows Gabonese President Omar Bongo (R, front) standing behind the coffin of his wife, Edith Lucie, at the Presidential Palace in Libreville with Congolese President Denis Sassou Ngesso (L), the father of his late spouse, who died on March 14, 2009 at a military hospital in Rabat. Africa's longest serving leader, Bongo, announced on May 6 that he was "temporarily" suspending his duties to rest and mourn the death of his wife. The surprise announcement came only a few hours after a French judge announced he would launch a landmark investigation into whether Bongo, 74, and two other African presidents, Nguesso and Equatorial Guinean President Teodoro Obiang Nguema, plundered state coffers to buy luxury homes and cars in France.
