HONG KONG-SHIPPING-NGO-RECYCLING
A group of NGOs holds a protest outside a convention on ship recycling in Hong Kong on May 11, 2009. The non-government organisations (NGO) were denouncing that the United Nations International Maritime Organisation meeting in Hong Kong to adopt a new convention on ship recycling is poised to take a major step backwards from existing environmental laws and were calling on delegates to ban the 'beaching' method of shipbreaking.
