US Lance Armstrong rides during the ninth stage of 92nd Giro of Italy, a 165km race held on an inner city circuit in Milan on May 17, 2009. The entire peloton stopped in their tracks six laps from the end in protest of unsatisfactory safety measures. Great Britain's Mark Cavendish (Columbia/USA) won the stage, Italy's Danilo Di Luca (LPR/IRL) remains first of the overall rank and keeps the pink jersey. AFP PHOTO DAMIEN MEYER
