Jose Maria Cortes, leader of the Amateurs Forcados Group of Montemor evaluates the bull they are about to catch in downtown Evora, central Portugal, on May 17, 2009. The forcados are a group of eight men who challenge the bull directly, in a single line and bare-handed. The front man provokes the bull into a charge to perform a "pega de caras" (face catch), securing the animal's head and is quickly aided by his fellows who surround and hold the animal until he is subdued.
