JAPAN-SANYO
The world's highest efficiency energy conversion photovoltanic (solar panel) cell is displayed by an employee of Japanese electronics giant Sanyo, in Tokyo on May 22, 2009. The hybrid type solar cell, composed of a single thin crystalline silicon wafer sandwiched by ultra-thin amorphous silicon layers can achieve an efficiency of 23.0 percent.
