ITALY-G8-ENERGY
European Union Energy Commissioner Andris Piebalgs (C) answers to journalists, next to Japan Parliamentary Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs Nishimura Yasutoshi (R) and Algerian Minister for Energy and Mines Chakib Khelil during a press conference closing a meeting of the Group of eight (G8) Energy ministers on May 25, 2009 in Rome. Italian oil group ENI proposed the same day during the meeting, the creation of an international oil agency that would stabilise the price of crude and compensate producing countries when prices fall too low.
