CHAD-UN-ICJ-SENEGAL-CHAD-BELGIUM-COURT-HABRE
(FILES) A file photo taken January 17, 1987 shows then Chadian President Hissen Habre in N'Djamena. The UN's highest court said on May 22, 2009 that it would rule next week on a Belgian bid to compel Senegal to prevent Chad ex-president Hissene Habre evading justice for torturing and killing opponents in the 1980s. The ruling to be made during the week of May 25-29 will be on a related, urgent Belgian application for an order compelling Senegal to prevent Habre from fleeing pending the judgment in the main application, which could take several years.
