SAFRICA-ENVIROMENT-WALES
South African National Sea Rescue Institute personnel and volunteers attempt to save some of the 55 Pilot whales that since this morning beached at Kommetjie beach on the outskirts of Cape Town, on May 30, 2009.
The whales started beaching themselves early this morning through to mid-morning, whilst the volunteers are keeping the whales alive with water and trying to determine the cause of this mass stranding. AFP PHOTO/GIANLUIGI GUERCIA
