MAURITANIA-VOTE-POLITICS
Some of the supporters of General Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz, who led the coup which toppled Mauritania's first democratically elected president last year, came to the airport to cheer the return of the delegations at the Nouakchott airport, late June 03, 2009. Some 1,500 Mauritanians, mostly opposed to the August 6 coup flocked to the airport to cheer the delegations that signed the agreement postponing presidential elections after six days of intense negotiations in Dakar.
