GERMANY-EU-EUROZONE-STRIKE-UNIONS-ECB
Employees of the European Central Bank (ECB) demonstrate in front of the ECB's headquarters in Frankfurt/M., western Germany, on June 3, 2009. Around a fifth of the staff working at the European Central Bank downed tools to stage the bank's first-ever strike, one day ahead of the bank's key rate-setting meeting. The ECB's Ipso union called on employees to go on a 90-minute warning strike as a disagreement over recently proposed changes to workers' rights -- mainly concerning pensions -- intensified.
