BRAZIL-FRANCE-AIR-ACCIDENT-FLIGHT 447
Brazilian Air Force soldiers set up a military tent in a grass field at Fernando de Noronha Air Base in Fernando de Noronha, Brazil on June 6, 2009, to support the search mission intended to find debris or victims of Air France flight 447 bound for Paris that presumably plunged into the Atlantic Ocean on June 1 just a few hours after taking off on late May 31 from Rio de Janeiro. Brazilian and French aircrafts and ships have been sweeping a vast expanse of the Atlantic Ocean, hunting for any sign of the Air France plane carrying 228 people that disappeared halfway between Rio de Janeiro and Paris after having sent an automatic message with multiple technical failure notices.
