The chairman of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Military Committee, Admiral Giampaolo Di Paola (L), Danish Defense Minister Soren Gade (C) and outgoing NATO Secretary-General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer (R) attend on June 12, 2009 a ceremony for the unveiling of a monument in memory of those who have fallen in NATO operations during a meeting of NATO defense ministers at organization headquarters in Brussels. NATO defense ministers have given a green light to a US plan to streamline the way the battle against the Taliban and Al-Qaeda is fought in Afghanistan, an alliance spokesman said on June 12.
