A group of immigrants sits on May 25, 2009 on the deck of a Greek Coast Guard ship in the port of the small Greek Aegean Sea island of Agathonissi before their departure a refugee camp on the island of Samos. Over 1,200 immigrants have landed since January on the shores of the island, which lies a short distance from the Turkish coast and has a mere 150 inhabitants. The island's rudimentary accommodation facilities are stretched to capacity and many migrants sleep outdoors, begging for food on the streets, local authorities say.
