OLY-2016-IOC-RIO
Rio State Governor Sergio Cabral speaks on June 17, 2009 during the presentation of the Rio 2016 bid committe before International Olympic Committee members (IOC) at the Olympic Museum in Lausanne. The IOC will choose on October 2 the host city for 2016 Summer Olympics among Chicago, Madrid, Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo. Chicago, bidding to become the first American city since Atlanta in 1996 to host the Summer Games, is up against Madrid, Rio de Janeiro -- who would be the first hosts from South America -- and Tokyo, the only city of the four to have previously hosted the Games.
