GERMANY-AUTO-COMPANY-KARMANN-FILES
FILES - Picture taken on June 30, 2003 shows a Karmann employee working on a Mercedes-Benz CLK-Cabrio at the Karmann plant in Osnabrueck, northern Germany. The insolvent, centenarian German auto group Karmann turned out on June 22, 2009 its last convertible car, a Mercedes Benz CLK, as it looks to survive through a major restructuring. Karmann, which was founded in 1901, has built more than 3.3 million convertibles for auto makers since 1949, including VW Karmann Ghias and Beetles, Ford Escorts, Mercedes CLKs and Audi Cabrios.
