PARAGUAY-MONTANARO-PRISON
Paraguayan former Interior Minister (1966-1989) during the dictatorship of Alfredo Stroessner, Sabino Augusto Montanaro (C), is taken into Tacumbu prison in Asuncion on June 24, 2009. The imprisonment of Montanaro, ordered on June 23 by judge Andres Casati, was labeled an "historic event" by local human rights organizations and cheered by former victims of Paraguay's dictatorship (1954-1989).
