Spanish journalist Letizia Ortiz Rocasolano, flanked by her fiance Prince Felipe of Spain, shows her engagement ring at the Pardo Palace near Madrid 06 November 2003. Prince Felipe de Borbon, the 35-year-old heir to the Spanish throne, formally asked for the hand in marriage of television journalist Letizia Ortiz Rocasolano, a 31-year-old divorcee. A beaming prince, clad in a sombre suit, pale pink shirt and tie, slipped a gleaming ring on to the hand of his intended, who was wearing a cream trouser suit, before hundreds of journalists at the Royal Zarzuela Palace just outside Madrid. She in turn gave her beau a pair of decorative cufflinks as the royal family looked proudly on alongside the bride-to-be's parents Jesus Ortiz and Paloma Rocasolano and their other daughters Telma and Erika.
