Fans who have tickets pass through a barricade as they arrive at the Staples Center, which is the site of the memorial service for musical legend after his death, in Los Angeles on July 7, 2009. A staggering 1.6 million people applied to win free tickets for the event allocated via an online lottery over the weekend.
