LITHUANIA-PRESIDENT-INAUGURATION-GRYBAUSKAITE
Lithuania's new president, Dalia Grybauskaite attends her inauguration ceremony in parliament ni Vilnius on July 12, 2009. Former European Union budget chief Dalia Grybauskaite was sworn in as president of the recession-hit Baltic state of Lithuania, succeeding veteran leader Valdas Adamkus. Grybauskaite, 53, was elected by a landslide in May in the race to succeed 82-year-old Adamkus who has retired after serving two five-year terms in office. She has a reputation as a tough-talking "Iron Lady" and has said that her political models include the original bearer of that nickname, former British prime minister Margaret Thatcher.
