PERU-ARCHAEOLOGY-HUMAN SACRIFICE
An archaeologist works on July 13, 2009 on the remains of a Chimu Culture woman found buried in the mud-brick citadel of Chan Chan, located in the northern Peruvian city of Trujillo, 700 km from Lima. The discovery took place during improvement works in the place. According to preliminary studies, the body belongs to a 22-year-old woman whose death may have been the result of human sacrifice to avoid the impact of El Ni?o phenomenon during the fifteenth century.
