The movie which has its world premiere in Melbourne on July 24, is a hard-hitting film depicting the murders of six Australian-based journalists during Indonesia's 1975 invasion of East Timor. Director Robert Connolly said the film Balibo was not only an attempt to show the truth behind the deaths of the newsmen but also to depict the horrors endured by the East Timorese people during the invasion and subsequent occupation.
