FRANCE-US-TELECOM-ALCATEL-LUCENT
(FILES) Picture taken on February 4, 2009 in Paris shows French-US telecom equipment group Alcatel-Lucent Chief executive Ben Verwaayen talking during a press conference to announce the 2008 results. Alcatel-Lucent announced on July 23, 2009 a plan to cut 850 jobs in France. Since the difficult merger of Alcatel and Lucent in 2006, the group has announced several restructuring plans that have included 17,500 job cuts.
