IRAQ-UREST-ARMS
The Iraqi army displays arms and munitions, including explosive belts, found this week in the predominantly Sunni town of Abu Ghraib, west of Baghdad, on August 1, 2009. The weapons and explosives were found in several apartments in the Abu Ghraib area and were shown to the press on August 1. Violent deaths in Iraq dropped by a third in July, the first month Iraqi police and troops had been in charge of security in urban areas since the 2003 US-led invasion, according to official figures.
